Granite has the same bacteria growth rating as stainless steel. Can bacteria grow in your Natural Stone countertops, technically yes, but it is about the same as bacteria growing on your stainless steel surfaces, relatively non-existant. The Man-Made stone industries started add campaigns such as this one to boost the sales of their Man-Made stone products. Lots of their claims are technically true but the adds make it seam like it is something to be concerned about when it is actually NOT. Another example is Radon. Im sure some of you remember or have heard people talk about the article and adds telling you that your granite countertops are producing Radon Radiation and you needed to be careful. Well that is actually true. Everything in nature produces Radon Radiation. Wood, Dirt, Trees, the real fact is that you would have to build your entire house out of granite in order to recieve more Radon Radiation than you recieve each day now from the 2x4's that were used in the construction of you home. It is NOT something that should concern you at all.
Basically, as with any job using a product from nature, there is no warranty on the stone itself. Ricon does offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY on the workmanship and installation of the stone so that you, as a customer, are protected and assured that all of the work is preformed in a professional manner as well as installed and fabricated in such a way that, under normal use, you will not have any problems for as long as you enjoy your new stone countertops.
